In Memory of Bo Dutton of the Dutton Family, Biddeford ME.
In 2020, MEHJA established the Veterinary Relief Fund in loving memory of Bo Dutton.
Bo Dutton was a well loved member of the Dutton Family. Bo is remembered for his love of jumping and puppy dog like personality. His favorite things in life were trail riding and xc/derby courses. For anyone who knew Bo - he was a shameless goober and grumpy old man who would rub his nose across the stall bars at dinner time and was a cookie connoisseur - only enjoying the finest of the treats. For those who didn't have the privilege of knowing Bo personally, he was easy to pick out of a lineup with his winning ways and googley eyes. He was a hard horse to not fall in love with, even on the rough days. In the last 3 years of Bo's life, Bo had a hard fought battle with cancer but never lost his carefree personality. Thanks to his amazing vets and their outstanding care, the Dutton family was able to have so much extra time with Bo. This Fund is provided in Bo's Memory - with hopes that this will help other riders get a chance for a longer time with their equine partners too.
The purpose of the fund is to provide support to MEHJA members seeking assistance with critical care or emergency veterinary expenses. MeHJA hosts a benefit class "The Bo Dutton Memorial Pleasure Class" at all MeHJA run shows. All proceeds from these classes go directly to the MeHJA Veterinary Relief Fund.
To apply for assistance, please reach out to MaineHJAssn@gmail.com.
Donations are encouraged and welcome! MeHJA is a 501c3 organization that survives on donations. We would love to hear a story, memory, or 'shout out' with your donation, but also appreciate anonymous donations. If you are interested in contributing to the cause, but unable to donate at this time, please reach out to mainehjassn@gmail.com or use the contact us page to inquire how you can volunteer!
